Episode 8 “Fleeting Dream”
Summary: Osen spots Saitou (along with his buddies) and comes to thank him for the other day. Since Chizuru was feeling down, Shinpachi asks Osen to cheer her up. Back at the headquarters Chizuru cheers up and does her normal chores. At night Harada gets in trouble for breaking the curfew, he complains about Hijikata being too strict on his old buddies while going easy on the newbies and Hijikata apologizes. Shogun lemochi passes away the next day, the Shinsengumi were asked to guard a wooden bulletin board stating that the Choshuu clan are traitors. Shinpachi gets the night shift to guard the board, a group of swordsmen attacks. While trying to capture them Kaoru (Chizuru’s clone) frees them and runs away. Shinpachi goes to treat everyone with the reward money he got, Kimigiku is the host for the night. Shinpachi mentions how Kaoru looked similar to Chizuru and they decide to dress her up. Everyone enjoys their time together meanwhile Kazama and Amagiri returns to the city. Kimigiku goes to warn Osen that trouble is coming.

Thoughts: I feel like we’re getting closer to uncovering the truth about Chizuru and all the mystery stuff, I knew that we would be seeing Kaoru again! It looks like she’s a rebel and a enemy of the Shinsengumi, who is Kaoru really? and why does she look like Chizuru? there’s a possibility she’s working with Kazama~
Osen is also getting off that “enemy of the Shinsengumi” vibe, she seems to know who Chizuru really is and givies off the evil stare when she saw the sword but it doesn’t look like she’s with Kazama.
Yay finally Chizuru dresses up as a girl ^_^ she looked so adorable when she dressed up xD I think the red lipstick doesn’t match her, it should be a lighter shade of pink or even none at all, she looks better with being natural looking face.
There was also a mention that Itou’s been gathering comrades, you know what I’m thinking? hes gonna start a rebel within the headquarters or something. Overall there’s not really much to say, nothing major happened yet, it was just another very slow episode~
I’m really excited to watch the next episode :D because Kazama is back! ^.^
I rather liked this episode. It had its share of goofing around (especially when everyone goes out for drinks), but you can see things moving towards some larger purpose.
When everyone have fun together it usually foreshadows that something bad is going to happen soon D: as of right now I can’t really see the larger purpose xD but hopefully soon~
