Durarara!!16 Everyone wants to be Saika..

Welcome to another Drrrr episode, today’s episode picks up from Shizuo smashing the reporters face in with the door from the van. Which kills the man quickly Celty then retrieves the blade and decides to take it to Shinra to have him check it out, Celty also takes Anri home and even shows Anri her secret about being headless she of course doesn’t freak out either (well shes seen some crazy stuff wouldn’t surprise me lol ) Celty then leaves to show Shinra  the weapon she warms him it might take him and take him over. Shinra listens to her story both of them have a few questions on how the Slasher works, Shinra tells Celty its Saika’s way of loving people by slashing them she loves them to much. ( kind of a scary way to love…) Shizuo doesn’t like how things played out with the reporter he goes to kill Izaya assuming he has ties to the Slashers. Before Anri can rest after everything she just saw she hears the doorbell go off around midnight, she opens the door to find a strange girl with long hair who knows Anri’s name ( sure let the crazy girl in the room Anri..) the girl says she is Haruna Neikawa the daughter of the reporter. Anri lets her and the two of them discuss Nasujima Mr sexual harassment man. Haruna really loved him but seems he didn’t share in the love, learning Anri was his new interest she came to eliminate her for good.

Anri is a bit shocked that Haruna is acting the way she is because to Anri she doesn’t care for the guy at all, but Haruna still doesn’t want her in the way. Haruna’s eyes glow telling Anri shes going to kill her and spread her love around. We learn the slashers are Saika’s “children” each obeying her orders to love more people by cutting them they become her children mindless zombie like people. Before Haruna can stab Anri the door bell goes off again ( sheesh party at Anri’s?!) Haruna opens the door thinking she will kill a friend of Anri’s finds its Mr Nasujima, Haruna gets really excited and runs off chasing him down leaving Anri with the Saika zombies to deal with her. Celty and Shinra figure out some clues about Saika finding the blade to not be the orginal sword Celty checks the chatroom to find lots of Saika’s in the rooms spamming messages about love and Shizuo, Celty then rushes out to find Shizuo about to smash Izaya in the face with a guard rail, the two of them ride off together to wait in the park soon filled with tons of Saika zombies. Shinra assumes one of them is the mother of all the original, one of the zombies beings to talk explaining why they want Shizuo with his power they could spread their love even more, because no one would  ever love him. He laughs it off and jumps into the crowd to being attacking them. Celty asks a question to Shinra which i can assume happened before she picked up Shizuo what happened to Saika five years ago, and where was it hiding all this time. Shinra of course does not but has a feeling it must be near by.

Haruna chases the teacher down the street to “talk” to him telling him she really loves him but sad that he wont return the same feelings to her, Anri arrives to fix things with Haruna of course Haruna is surprised she escaped all of her zombies. She then attempts to stab Anri but she uses her arm to take the stab telling Haruna shes right she can’t love and does feel like a pinworm living off others to survive, Anri recalls some old memories of her parents death and the Demon sword as she begins to pull a blade out of her own hand revealing she had the original blade all this time living inside her, episode ends with Anri’s eyes glowing red ( sooo coool!!!)

Final thoughts, Great episode really enjoyed the story this time how everything is coming together. Saika’s plans seen strange but I can see why she wants Shizuo he is quite powerful and with him they could spread the “children” around the world, can’t wait to see him go crazy fighting the Saika zombies. Anri was great in the episode too really cool to see how she has had the original blade all along, but I already knew this thanks to some image sites but still fun to see her with glowing eyes. I instantly thought of the first Darker than black opening! I have read a few blogs and most everyone liked this episode and have their own ideas on the story so far. Some think that the sword Anri now has might be able to kill the saika’s for good, I can see that happening. Wonder if Anri will end up fighting Celty? or something like that. See you next time!
