Welcome to another Durarara!! review.
Today’s episode was kind if interesting, it was narrated by Simon the sushi worker mostly him talking about the city. We then join Mikado in class where they are electing the class reps, Anri Sonohara is one and mikado slowly raises his hand i think he likes her well..so do all the guys for well reasons. After some teasing from Kiba about him being a playboy he tries his luck at picking up chicks but fails of course, then we learn more about the color gangs and the Dollars, Anri runs in a random alley looking for a i think is a classmate or friend but miss takes her for someone else. The girl she grabs is well strange she has a huge scar on her neck . Anri also runs into some girl friends of some dollars gang members Mikado and Kiba stand back watching, although Mikado wants to save her hes sort of pushed into the group by Izaya who followed them into the alley.
Izaya shows off scaring the gangster and the girls away by..stomping on the girls cell phone? its his “hobby”. Shortly after Kiba meets Izaya shows a bit of interest in Mikado While talking to the three Izaya is suddenly smacked with a trashcan ( i died laughing at that part lol ) a bartender walks up and knows our evil friend Izaya, his name is Shizuo Heiwajima another enemy Kiba warned Mikado about, as Shizuo attempts to fight Izaya the gang from earlier rush in and attack Shizuo, they try to attack him only to well get taken out fast by Shizuo (2nd best part the fighting has a bit of humor to it ) Simon jumps from a roof as Shizuo throws a vending machine at a Izaya , Simon catches it without breaking a sweat Simon also knows Shizuo the two of them “fight” and Mikado grabs Anri and runs away pulling the girl, but she ends up pulling him instead they share a bit of award silence and she runs off i hope something happens between them they match up well. Ending the episode Shizuo is talking to the neko rider sharing some information on Izaya guess she allies with anyone with info.

End of the episode,final thoughts this episode was very fun and had some action in it finally! interesting to see how the other characters know each other like Simon and Shizuo and the neko rider guess they all have a history together. Shizuo is my 2nd favorite character, i love crazy ones and he seems crazy and strong..throwing vending machines or whatever he can grab reminds me of a fighting game character. Some other things popped up too the girl with the beanie hat has a large scar on her neck could that be the neko rider’s original head?
attached to a random body…because the guy that skipped class knows her judging from the opening they are a couple or something. Then we have Shizuo and the neko rider talking to each other sharing information, i think as many have said in posts the rider works all sides it doesn’t stick to just one side. Mikado and Anri seem like a great pair i really hope something happens between them, sadly i don’t see much Mikado is the main character and he seems very shy and scared , Izaya shows some interest in him i think he knows a secert about Mikado or he just wants to mess with him /shrug not sure but all and all its getting more entertaining.
Haha this ep is the best so far! :D my new fav character is Shizuo ^_^ hes so awesome LOL and strong too,,,he knows how to knock someone out of their clothes :P the guy should of tighten his belt a little more! it would have been fun to see Shizuo fighting vs Izaya knife skills. Izaya is just such a amusing character! he really knows how to deal with people and creep them out, it’s hilarious how he steps on the girl’s cellphone xD I think Izaya just likes to cause trouble especially for Mikado since he’s so weak~
At this point I think Izaya is looking for someone to mess with. It seems possible that Izaya is one of the people on the BB that Mikado goes to. When Izaya showed up I was sure things were going to get much worse, but he actually helped out in his own psychotic manner. And Kiba’s personality change when Izaya showed up was very well handled. Definitely my favorite series of the season.

@ ruby lol indeed Shizuo up there with Izaya and the rider, i like the fighting i hope it stays over the top i loved it a lot in Gurren Laggan. Izaya is amazing guess he loves to cause trouble or enjoys messing with people.
@ Bob Agreed he wants to find someone to pester and poke fun at, kiba is cool too hes very animated shows more movement and expressions but ya he did change when Izaya showed up… more like oh crap he found me type.
Lol! I would probably think that, too if I ran into Izaya, so I can’t blame him.
